Chester County Capers: Your April Activity Guide for Nannies!

Spring has sprung in Chester County, nannies! Those winter coats can be tucked away, and it's time to plan some epic outdoor adventures with your little ones. Here's your go-to guide

for making the most of an amazing April:

Embrace the Sunshine:

  • Park Hopping Extravaganza: Pack a picnic lunch and hit the trails at Marsh Creek or French Creek State Park. Explore playgrounds, have a nature scavenger hunt, or chase bubbles in the open fields.

  • Longwood Garden Games:  Longwood Gardens explodes with color in April! Plan a magical morning wandering the blooming meadows, then unleash the giggles with some creative garden games. Think flower crown contests, seed pod races, or hide-and-seek amongst the vibrant blooms. Don't forget to check the calendar for special children's events!

  • Storybook Walks:  Many local libraries and parks host "storybook walks," with pages of a children's book posted along a walking path. Turn your walk into a fun, interactive story time adventure!

Rainy Day Fun:

  • Arts & Crafts Extravaganza!  A rainy day doesn't have to dampen the mood. Stock up on some colorful craft supplies and unleash your inner Picassos! You can make anything from spring flower mobiles to tie-dye masterpieces.

  • Indoor Playdate Paradise:  Beat the rain with a trip to a local indoor play space like Urban Air Trampoline Park or Pump It Up. Let the kids burn off some energy while you relax and chat with other nannies.

  • Museum Mania:  Rainy days are perfect for exploring the wonders of local museums. The Brandywine River Museum of Art or the American Helicopter Museum offer fascinating exhibits that will spark curiosity in little minds.

Bonus Fun!

  • First Fridays in West Chester: The first Friday of every month transforms downtown West Chester. Enjoy street performers, live music, and special events while the kids explore the shops (with permission, of course!).

  • Pick-Your-Own Fun:  As the month progresses, keep an eye out for local farms offering strawberry or asparagus picking. It's a fun way to get some fresh air, teach the kids about where their food comes from, and maybe even snag some delicious treats!

Remember, nannies, this is just a starting point!  Check local event calendars and library listings for story times, workshops, or unique family events. With a little planning, you can turn April into a month of unforgettable adventures for the little ones in your care!
