Juggling it All: Running a Nanny Agency, Lyme Disease, and Motherhood

Hey there! I'm Alicia, and I wear many hats. I'm the proud owner of Balia Referral Agency llc, a thriving business that connects amazing nannies with wonderful families. I'm also a stay-at-home mom, and on top of that, I'm navigating the complexities of chronic Lyme disease.

Let me tell you, it's not always sunshine and rainbows. Who said running a business would be easy? Here's a glimpse into my crazy, beautiful world:

The Balancing Act:

  • Busy Bees: My mornings are a whirlwind of getting my little one ready, packing lunches, and squeezing in work calls before the house erupts in morning madness. It's a constant dance between building my business empire and building sandcastles in the living room.

  • Lyme Life: Let's not forget the ever-present Lyme. Some days, my energy levels are through the roof, allowing me to tackle mountains of paperwork. On other days, fatigue steals the show, forcing me to delegate and prioritize with laser focus.

The Upside of the Juggle:

  • Flexibility is Queen: Running my agency allows me to create a schedule that works for my family and my health. While some days require late-night emails, others allow afternoon snuggles and doctor appointments.

  • Motivation on Steroids: My children are my biggest motivators. I want to build a successful business that allows me to provide for them and be a role model for resilience and hard work. Dealing with Lyme has also instilled in me a deep appreciation for each good day and a fierce determination to live life to the fullest.

The Natural Approach:

While conventional medicine has its place, I've found a lot of relief through natural remedies for Lyme. It's a holistic approach that focuses on diet, sleep, stress management, and herbal supplements. Researching and experimenting has become another layer to my already busy life, but the results have been worth it.

The Village Matters:

Building a strong support system is crucial. My husband is an absolute rock, my family and friends are incredibly understanding, and I have a fantastic network of fellow Lyme warriors who share tips and encouragement.

The Message:

Running a business while being a stay-at-home mom with chronic illness is challenging, yes. But it's also incredibly rewarding. It's a testament to the strength of women, the power of flexibility, and the importance of a strong support system. If you're juggling your own set of challenges, know this: you're not alone. Keep pushing forward, embrace the chaos, and celebrate the victories, big and small.
