Spread the Love with Fuzzy Hedgehog Valentines!

February is filled with hearts, flowers, and all things lovey-dovey. But who says Valentine's Day crafts have to be all pink and red? This year, let's get creative with some adorable Fuzzy Hedgehog Valentines that are perfect for kids of all ages!

What you'll need:

  • Brown cardstock or construction paper

  • Pink and red pipe cleaners

  • Googly eyes

  • Craft glue

  • Scissors

  • Optional: Markers, glitter glue, and other embellishments

Instructions:

  1. Start with the heart: Cut a large heart shape from the brown cardstock. This will be the hedgehog's body.

  2. Pipe cleaner spikes: Cut several pink and red pipe cleaners into shorter pieces, around 1-2 inches long. These will be the hedgehog's quills.

  3. Get prickly: Apply glue to the back of the heart shape and carefully stick the pipe cleaner pieces all over it, creating a fluffy, spiky effect. You can alternate pink and red colors or create a fun pattern.

  4. Give them eyes: Glue on two googly eyes near the top of the heart, bringing your little hedgehog to life!

  5. Personalize your prickles: Let your creativity shine! Use markers to add details like a nose, mouth, or whiskers. You can even sprinkle on glitter glue or add other embellishments for an extra magic touch.

  6. Spread the love: Write a sweet Valentine's Day message on the back of the heart, or simply let the adorable fuzzy creature do the talking!

Tips:

  • Younger children can practice their fine motor skills by cutting the pipe cleaners into shorter pieces.

  • For a more 3D effect, you can glue the pipe cleaners upright instead of flat against the heart.

  • Use different colors of pipe cleaners to create unique and colorful hedgehogs.

  • Get the whole family involved! Make a batch of these cuties and hand them to classmates, friends, or teachers.

These Fuzzy Hedgehog Valentines are a fun, easy, and adorable way to celebrate Valentine's Day with a twist. They're perfect for classroom crafts, parties, or simply sending a little love to someone special. So grab your supplies, unleash your creativity, and spread the fuzzy hedgehog love this February!
